- White balance - Make image "cooler" or "warmer"
- Exposure - Sets "White Point" (use option key)
- Shadows - Sets "Black Point" (use option key)
- Brightness - Sets "Gamma"
- Contrast - Adjust dynamic range
- Saturation - From mono to full on saturation
- Sharpness - Better to do after importing in PS
- Luminance Smoothing - Generally used when shooting at higher ISO
- Color Noise Reduction - Default at 25 usually fine but may need tweaking depending on camera
- Review Automation and Creating Droplets
- Test out what you want to do on a sample file
- Create a new action and
- carefully recreate steps
- Remember to Close -> Don't Save the file
- Test your new Action using the play button
- Select Action you want to make into a Droplet
- Choose File -> Automate -> Create Droplet
- Test Droplet out
- Don't underestimate power of automation
- Easier to keep a "Droplet Folder" on your desktop
- Droplets still need PS to run
- Have to make new Droplet to modify
- Review Overall workflow
- This is one scenerio for workflow
- Copy files from camera to computer, make backup
- Use File Browser to sort through images flagging ones along the way
- Begin editing single images by going after major problems first
- Evaluate overall tonal range
- Is there a color cast or is the image to "warm" or "cool"?
- If necessary clean up image with "Healing Brush"
- Correct any specific issues if necessary
- Apply some sharpening
- Output to either print or web
