- Shapes
- Difference between shapes and drop zones
- Drop zones are only graphics (highlight layer is empty)
- Shapes are used as buttons
- Transparancy is used for button highlights
- 4 essential layers in creating a shape (order is important)
- Icon - Used for Palette only
- Highlight - Used for button highlight
- Shape - Graphics with transparancy through to background
- Mask - Area which will display "Set Assets"
- Drop Zones still need a Highlight layer even though will be empty
- Shapes are able to have various degrees in transpareny but not highlights
- Make sure to "flatten" any text that uses layer styles
- It doesn't matter which layers are visible when saving
- Make sure Background Contents is set to Transparent (RGB mode)
- Import shapes from the Palette
- Customize - used throughout project
- Project - only for specific project
- Patches - Special kind of "Apple-only" shape (.pox)
- Templates
- Able to make own template using overlays or shapes
- When you save your custom template make sure to check "Self-Contained"
- You can your custom files at HD:Library:Application Support:DVD Studio Pro:
- For DVDSP files
- Control-Click DVDSP application from Applications folder
- Select "Show Package Contents"
- Select the "Resources" folder
- Transistions
- Three different kinds of Transistions
- Don't worry if not perfect in simulator
- Need to ultimately test with a build
- Able to create own transistions in FCP or Motion
- Video transistions work from Menus not Tracks or Slideshows
